I’ve been following American politics since the days of Dwight Eisenhower (I was very young back then – listening to my Mom and Dad arguing over Eisenhower v Stevenson) and, of course, nothing compares to what is happening in this year’s election. The POLLS make it clear “we the people” have had “enough” of individual 1 – even Fox “news'” polling shows Joe Biden with an eight point lead over our IMPEACHED so-called president, but people remain on the edge of their seats because we all know individual 1 will be looking for ways to CHEAT up until the final “nail is in his political coffin.” Of course, for the past 40 years there’s only been one election where the republican nominee actually won the most votes in a presidential election.

Individual 1 is counting on winning the Electoral College once again – using whatever means he can to pull this off. For me, the memories of 2000 seem fresh in my mind and I don’t trust Ron DeSantis who is very likely doing whatever he can to suppress votes in Democratic leaning areas. Tonight there was actually video of a postal station in South Florida where there were mail boxes stacked on each other full of mail in ballots which had been sitting there for almost a full week – this is three days before the election. Add this to the likelihood there are going to be unending court battles if Biden wins the election so, as many (including me) have been saying, “hold on to your………” it’s going to be an interesting “ride.” Let’s hope people have actually voted like their lives depended on it and Biden wins in a LANDSLIDE. I, personally, don’t think even that will calm individual 1 down.

Today, according to “worldometer.com” there were over 101,000 newly diagnosed cases of Covid-19 in America – just today. Yesterday, over 90,000 as with the day before that – and, while all these cases are being identified individual 1 and individual 1 Jr. are out there claiming there’s no problem with this virus. Jr. claims the total number of deaths (about 900 per day) amount to “almost nothing” while individual 1 is saying doctors are LYING about the number of deaths because they get more money if someone dies from Covid. That was about as low as anyone can go – accusing these great people of cheating to get extra money. My anger meter is increasing by the day. God help us if our IMPEACHED so-called president somehow figures out how to CHEAT his way into another four years in office.

It’s three days until election day and I decided to look in detail at one of the polls which was graded “A” by Five Thirty Eight – the site I trust the most when it comes to polling. I looked at all the questions asked – and, by the way, they were similar to questions I was asked in the one poll in which I participated – and, quite honestly, I was baffled at the numbers of people who answered questions as if they’d been in an individual 1 rally of late. I’ve been wondering: “how on earth can over 40% of Americans continue to support him?” Well, one of the questions in the survey read something like this: “I’m going to read you a list of nine TV news outlets and please answer which one you TRUST the most.” I’m sure you know where I’m going with this – by a large margin the answer was “Fox news.” (The first thought in my head was the survey I read a while back which said those who depend on Fox for their “news” are less informed than people who don’t watch any news on TV)

This just further confirmed in my head that Fox needs to find a resting place alongside individual 1, William Barr, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, Devin Nunez, Moscow Mitch, Lindsey Graham, and a plethora of other republicans right next to Benedict Arnold in our History books. I’m sure they’ll find their way to that place eventually because, even if our IMPEACHED so-called president manages to CHEAT his way into another four years – which is possible, thanks largely to Fox – eventually, their scam will run out of steam. Of course, my hope is that happens on November 3rd, but as Fivethirtyeight.com points out, it’s still possible individual 1 pulls off another Electoral College upset. I will point out those who were part of the above mentioned survey, in larger numbers than those who “trust” Fox “news,” pointed out Fox was the news site they trust the LEAST. About 2 don’t trust them for every person who does. I forget all of the other options other than CNN was the second most “trusted” and the second least “trusted.”

When you look at the numbers of people who answered questions in ways implying they had no idea what they were talking about – or, maybe a better way to put this would be their answer suggested they watch too much Fox – to me, was a bit mystifying. For example, when asked who was to blame for “Congress being unable to agree on another Covid relief bill,” a significant plurality said, “Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats.” Of course, “Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats” passed a “Covid relief bill” about four months ago which Mitch McConnell has refused to put up for a vote in the Senate. These are the kinds of things which are the most frustrating to me. People are being brainwashed and our “news” seems to be full of more misinformation than actual factual “news.”

If that question was do you favor or oppose another relief bill I could see a range of different opinions – but, when there’s already been a bill passed by one group and most Americans believe that group is the one preventing the bill from passing, well……………. I think you get my point. This is a good example of why I believe Fox “news” is a traitorous organization, just as the IMPEACHED so-called president they are propping up. Sadly, their market share far surpasses any other “news” outlet and their influence very well may be enough to get individual 1 “over the hump” once again.

The saddest example, to me, of what Fox is doing to this country came today when I read Jack Nicklaus’ (The greatest golfer of all time – save, maybe for Tiger Woods) reasons for supporting individual 1. I say this because I’ve come to admire Nicklaus over the years – when he was younger, as a fan of Arnold Palmer, I really didn’t care for Mr. Nicklaus but the truth is he and his wife do a lot of good for others and I have to admire that. But, listening to his reasoning as to why he’s supporting individual 1, I was left scrambling to understand how someone who seems so smart can say such stupid things. Like, for example, “individual 1 is more likely to pull this country together.” Where on earth did he get that thought? Then, when he suggested a democratic victory would mean “socialism” my first question was answered. Just further proof as to the damage propaganda outlets like Fox along with the IMPEACHED so-called president they “prop up,” who rely on the Nazi’s “Big Lie Theory” day in and day out are doing to this once great nation. If America is to be “great again,” individual 1 MUST be voted from office! Period, full stop!

I’m guessing by the time I finish this posting the election will be either decided or in the courts with individual 1’s CHEATING in full throttle. I’m a Christian (apparently, liberal) and I trust God to be in control, but I’m feeling I won’t be all that happy with him if he subjects “we the people” to another four years of individual 1. And, what most people aren’t talking about because of the direct threat to the health care system in the middle of this pandemic, four more years of choosing judges and this nation will be in dire straights for at least a generation and possibly two. As I’m writing this I have to wonder whether enough Americans could possibly vote for individual 1 to actually subject us to his “herd mentality” approach to the pandemic. We’re talking about HUNDREDS of thousands of lives in the balance! And, what no one seems to be talking about, individual 1 is threatening Social Security and Medicare along with the Affordable Care Act. Yikes! I can’t believe I feel compelled to be writing this stuff!

Final Thought: the reality is if individual 1 “wins” on Tuesday, it will be the “Christian” community who cause it to happen. Is it any wonder so many young Americans are turning their backs on Jesus? Today I listened to a great sermon at my church (I’m still doing it online) and the message pretty much summed up my thoughts (other than I’m certainly PRAYING Joe Biden will win the election). Our pastor, who is from Huntsville, Alabama (our church is across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon – go figure) lamented all the “lobbying” he’s been receiving from people in the church, many of them, apparently, threatening to “leave the church” if he didn’t take a stand on the pulpit. Of course, that would violate IRS guidelines (the law) and would cause the church to lose its tax exempt status – but, these days there are a lot of people who consider our system of laws as an inconvenience.

That being said, our Pastor shared there are people who don’t believe anyone who’s a democrat should be in the church and they wanted to know if he’s a democrat. (I highly doubt it, but he’s not going to respond to STUPID questions like that – he didn’t say the questions were stupid, but I did it for him ;o) They were claiming that there’s only one issue and that’s abortion. So, in other words, for all these “Christians” the 545 children at our border who are now ORPHANS thanks to our IMPEACHED so-called president, don’t matter. The “herd mentality” to a pandemic which has already killed close to a quarter MILLION Americans doesn’t matter, the 25,000+ LIES don’t matter, and on and on. And, most of these people will/are encourage(ing) individual 1 to continue destroying our government institutions – until, of course, it affects them. Most are affluent white people who still don’t understand they’ve benefited from “white privilege” their whole lives – they just understand they want to continue doing so. (It was reported today there have been 30,000 cases of Covid-19 directly resulting from individual 1’s rallies with 700 deaths – need I say more?)

Most of these people, at least the ones I’ve talked to, will tout the importance of remaining dependent on OIL and find reasons to criticize people like me who have invested in clean energy with solar panels on the roof and electric cars. They don’t believe there is systemic racism in America, in fact, they don’t believe individual 1 is a racist, or a LIAR, or a misogynist, or a xenophobe, or a narcissist. None of this matters to them because they oppose a woman’s right to control her own body. I keep saying, here, at some point I’ll make a posting on the abortion issue, but I’ll give the short answer. First, I’m thankful I’ve never been in the position to have to deal directly with that issue – other than one miscarriage where my wife had what amounted to an abortion (of a deceased fetus) – and, Secondly, I’ve come to the place where I believe if you don’t believe in abortion, don’t have one. Why are all these people who believe in less government wanting MORE government? That gets me back to Mr. Nicklaus.

When I listen to people like Jack Nicklaus suggesting that if Joe Biden wins the election we’re going to become a “Socialist” country – or words to that effect – I have to wonder what on earth caused him to say that? Does he not know that during the terms of the last two republican administrations – including this one – we’ve seen SOCIALISM as we’ve NEVER seen it before. In Bush/Cheney we got a minor dose of it compared to individual 1, but if your memory is short, the TARP BAILOUT was Socialism pure and simple. Our government BAILED OUT our financial industry to the tune of almost a TRILLION dollars. In addition, the “Great Recession” – which resulted from our so-called “free market” leaders resulted in TRILLIONS more coming from the Fed, which most of us (including me) know little to nothing about – propping up major industries – keeping them afloat on Wall Street. It appears to me wealthy people, like Mr. Nicklaus, believe it “pocketing the gains and socializing the losses.” Of course, these bailouts work in his favor. I’m not complaining about it, I’m just pointing out a curious fact.

So, now we have individual 1 – whose tax scam certainly would have saved someone like Mr. Nicklaus, likely, MILLIONS of dollars (he doesn’t need) – his ONLY legislative “accomplishment.” I don’t know how the rolling back of all the environmental regulations could possibly affect Mr. Nicklaus, but the stock market? That might be the answer to why he suggested what he suggested. (Although, the market is doing no better under our IMPEACHED so-called president than under a democrat, likely worse) Does he know Jerome Powell has pumped something like six or seven TRILLION dollars into the market to stabilize it, just this year? I’m sure that benefits him in a big way, but is that not SOCIALISM? I have to wonder how he defines Socialism? Likely, by what he hears on Fox “news.”

Pretty much everyone who has chosen to affiliate themselves with individual 1 end up with some level of “stain” on their reputation. I’m sorry Mr. Nicklaus chose to go in that direction, but as one person on our local sports talk show said, “he gets to have a different opinion than you” – talking to all the people who were offended by his comments. Yes, that’s true, but he would have been better off, in the long run, to keep those words to himself. (Can you tell I’m a bit over confident in my own position – I’m thinking of those 545 kids as I’m writing this. Of course, I’ve done nothing but donate a few dollars to help them, but the FACT they’re still in those cages and will possibly NEVER see their parents again, grieves my heart and causes me to wonder how people like Mr. Nicklaus can support this. The lasting damage to these children from what has already happened brings tears to my eyes ……………….. God help us!

The message coming from the pastor of my church this morning was that post election, no matter the results, his prayer is we would love one another! My thought would be, “Is there one candidate where that’s more likely?” Stay tuned………………….
